🐾 BREEDING PHILOSOPHY & EXPERIENCE

1. How long have you been breeding, and how did you get started?
I started breeding in 2016. Now that I’m retired, I have the time to focus on raising puppies the right way—hands-on and with lots of daily interaction. It’s something I truly enjoy and take pride in.

2. How do you ensure your puppies are well-socialized before going to their new homes?
Once the puppies are weaned, I separate them so they get used to being on their own. That way, when they leave for their new homes, it’s one less stressor to deal with. I also spend a lot of time playing with them in a play area (and outdoors, weather/season permitting)—they love it, and it helps them grow up confident and well-adjusted.

3. What steps do you take to ensure the health of your puppies?
All of my adult dogs are OFA health tested and genetics-tested, and every puppy gets a full vet check at 7 weeks old. I also give them a bath before they go home, so they’re clean and ready to make a great first impression. I am an AKC Breeder of HEART

🏡 FAMILY LIFE

1. Can you tell us a little about your family and your personal hobbies?
My wife and I have raised five boys and two girls—they’re all grown now—and we’re blessed with grandchildren who love to help out with the puppies when they visit. My biggest hobby is fishing, but raising the best puppies I can is something I put my heart into every day.

🏠 HOME ENVIRONMENT & SETTING

1. What kind of space do your puppies grow up in?
They have a clean, quiet space with plenty of fresh air and room to play. I give each pup individual attention and let them explore and interact in our designated play area. It’s a great place for them to build confidence and burn off energy.

🐶 PUPPY CARE & PERSONAL TOUCHES

1. How do you prepare each puppy for their new home?
Each puppy is vet-checked, bathed, and gradually introduced to being on their own so they’re ready for the transition to their new family. I want them to be as comfortable and well-prepared as possible.

2. What do you send home with each puppy?
I include a bag of the food they’re used to and a small pack of probiotics to help their stomachs adjust to the change. Of course, all the paperwork goes home with them too.

3. What advice do you usually give to new puppy owners?
Puppies are full of energy and curiosity—they don’t always do what you want right away! I always tell new owners to be patient and consistent, and if anything comes up, I’m just a phone call away.

4. Do you have a favorite past puppy or one that especially stands out?
They’re all special in their own way, but a few really stand out—especially the ones that have gone on to become service dogs. I have a soft spot for children with special needs, and knowing that one of my puppies is making a difference in a child’s life means a lot to me.
