Do Golden Retrievers shed a lot?
Goldens have a long, beautiful, and thick coat and tend to shed more in the Spring and Autumn as the weather changes.
Although they tend to shed more than other dogs, there are a few tips for managing their sheds and keeping their house nice and clean.
Brush your dog regularly throughout the week, bathe them regularly, and feed them healthy, nutritious food, which keeps their hair follicles strong. (Stress can even contribute to how much your dog sheds too!)
Ultimately, the best way to reduce any shedding is to keep your best friend happy, healthy, and clean.
Do Golden Retrievers smell?
All dogs have some amount of “dog scent,” and Golden retrievers are no exception.
They have very thick, double fur that’s designed to be water-resistant. Their skin also has oils for swimming, which can give them their own smell.
